Actress Kim Yun-jin has been selected as a model for a public announcement being co-produced by the U.S. broadcaster ABC and Walt Disney.
Kim and three other top stars starred in the public announcement entitled “Dreams Come True” on Sept. 27. It will be shown across the United States on ABC and the Disney Family channels.
The announcement, which aims to send a message of hope to young people and children, features top stars speaking frankly about their dreams in a documentary film-like format.
Other actors that appeared in the announcement along with Kim include Jason Denton from “Desperate Housewives,” Isaiah Washington from “Grey’s Anatomy” and country singer Sara Evans.
Kim’s manager said the actress was chosen to model for the announcement because she is one of the prominent people who achieved her dream in America.
On Sept. 22, Kim filmed a scene in Los Angeles showing her putting a piece of paper with her dream written on it in a bottle and throwing it to the sea. In the announcement, she urges viewers not to stop pursuing their dreams and that dreams inspire people to love and live.
The actress’s manager also said that Kim translated the message into Korean right on the spot at the request of the announcement’s filming director but it is still unclear whether the Korean version will also be used.
Known worldwide for her role in the ABC show “Lost,” Kim is currently filming the show’s third season in Hawaii. Recently, she has appeared on the covers of TV Guide, Arena and Stuff.
