So Ji Sub, a ‘meaningful’ birthday party

Nov 1, 2006

Fans of actor So Ji Sub will be gathering from several different countries to celebrate his birthday.

Members of So Ji Sub’s internet Daum fan café ‘Yeong So Sa (abbreviation of: will love So Ji Sub forever)’ have prepared a meaningful party for his 29th birthday coming up on the 4th.

They will host a birthday party for So Ji Sub on the 5th at noon at the Sung Kyun Kwan University 600th Anniversary Building. At this event, Korean fans along with 500 Japanese fans, and those from Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and other Asia regions, as well as, fans from the U.S., Canada, and Italy will be attending. Approximately 1,000 or so fans are expected to gather.

Surprisingly, however, is that So Ji Sub will not be attending the event. Considering his military duty and positions, So Ji Sub has decided to not attend the event. His fans still plan to gather despite So Ji Sub’s non-attendance.

BOF, the agency of So Ji Sub, commented on the 1st, "We are not officially involved with the event as it is being hosted by a fan café. We were surprised, however, to hear that so many fans from abroad will be attending. More surprising was that these fans are natives of each of the countries and not Korean."

A special video of So Ji Sub put together by the fans will be screened along with a thank you message from So Ji Sub.

Also, an auction will be held for 6 t-shirts and 4 photos So Ji Sub took himself. All funds received from the auction will be donated to charity.
