The revival of Kim Yoon Ah, she returned this year with the third installment of her solo albums “315360” after six years. From writing the music and lyrics, as well as arranging and producing everything from the beginning to the end, Kim Yoon Ah’s hard work rings in our ears.
The album starts off with the haunting and captivating track “이상한 세상의 릴리스 (The Release of a Strange World)” where the mellow-feeling beats and the clear vocals gives the song a chilling sensation . “비밀의 정원 (Secret Garden)” is a track that surprised me as the vocal is exerted slightly differently. Maybe because this is the first time I’ve listened to Kim Yoon Ah’s music, I felt her voice possessed a more traditional impression. “Going Home” is the title track off the album. Like the other tracks, it is a slow but soothing track with mesmerizing piano melodies. “Tokyo Blues” has a certain feel to it, one that has a jazz sense that sounds quite refreshing to the ears. On the other hand, “Summer Garden,” “에뜨왈르,” and “Cat Song” illustrates the compassion between mother and child.
Though the album was a bit slow-paced most of the time, I have to say I found it better than I had expected. There always hits a certain part in a song that makes it entrancing, pulling you into the mood. Maybe it’s Kim Yoon Ah’s comforting voice or the simple tunes, but for sure the album is one of the most relaxing ones I’ve heard.
