After a two-year hiatus Hong Soo Hyun is back on the small screen through SBS’s “Lie to Me.” The upcoming Mon-Tue drama “Lie to Me”, which is stirring much attention due to Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan’s casting, is a romantic comedy about Korea’s top aristocrat, Hyun Ki Joon (Kang Ji Hwan), and a single woman Gong Ah Jung (Yoon Eun Hye) getting caught up in a marriage scandal because of a ridiculous lie.
Hong Soo Hyun plays the role of Ah Jung’s ten-year rival Yoo So Ran, who provides a definitive reason to get drawn into a fake marriage scandal. She continuously tortures Ah Jung from the start. As a wife of an affluent lawyer, So Ran will intrigue the viewer throughout the drama through her fancy and stylish fashion items and outfits, along with her elegant life style.
Hong Soo Hyun has been recognized for successfully acting various roles in past dramas and movies such as, SBS’s “Temptation of an Angel” (2009), KBS’s “Dae Jo Yeong”(2006), KBS’s “Sangdo, Let’s Go to School” (2003), and the movie “Insadong Scandal” (2009). She also appeared in the movie “Rough Cut” along with Kang Ji Hwan in 2008.
The actress commented, “It’s such a friendly atmosphere that I’m worried that I won’t be able to make the most of Ah Jung’s rivalrous character. Since the staff nicknamed me “Ah Jung Tackler, I will invigorate the drama as a cute tackler.” “Lie to Me” premieres on May 9th.
