Recently Super Junior M came to Malaysia to perform at “The One Million Youth Gathering” in conjunction with National Youth Day celebrations in Putrajaya.
The free concert was held on May 28. The six members of Super Junior M arrived on the same day and went straight to the concert venue for rehearsal and sound check. Si Won and Dong Hae could not make it due to their drama commitment in Taiwan. This was their first time to perform in Malaysia as Super Junior M. After that, they went to the hotel to rest and interview with some media outlets.
While waiting for the concert to start, I’ve met some friends that came earlier. She said that they came as early as 8AM to secure the best spot. There were also fans from neighboring countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore.
At 10PM, the boys kicked off the concert with “Perfection.” Then, they introduced themselves in Mandarin, Korean and Malay. They were happy to see the fans that came to this concert. The fans were screaming whenever they said “sayang” or “I love You”.
Six fans were chosen to meet their idols up close. They held a short Q&A session with the MC and the boys shook hands and gave hugs, much to the delight of their fans.
Then they performed “Blue Tomorrow.” The fans waved their blue light sticks as they sang along and did the fanchant together. After that, each member gave solo performances. Ryeo Wook, Kyu Hyun, and Zhou Mi sang popular Chinese songs, while Henry sang and danced to Justin Bieber‘s “Baby“. Eun Hyuk showed off his dance skill by doing a dance cover of Michael Jackson‘s famous moonwalk dance.
Before the boys ended their show with “Destiny,” they seemed grateful and surprised by the overwhelming response of the fans and audiences who came to watch their performances. They gave their final bow after the last song but the fans still remained in their seats. Few moments later, the member came back on stage and gave an encore performance of their hit single “Super Girl.“
Despite the hot weather in Putrajaya, the boys are all well dressed in suits. An estimated audience figure of 10000 came to watch the show. The boys went back to Korea the next day.
