Super Junior member Heechul steps down from “Kim Heechul’s Youngstreet,” the SBS radio program he has led for one year and three months. According to a statement from his agency, SM Entertainment, Heechul’s last broadcast will be on June 26th.
Heechul’s withdrawal from the show is because of accelerated activities with Super Junior, which includes work on the new album, as well as promotions for M&D, his project duo with TRAX’s Jungmo. M&D’s “Close ur Mouth Song” will be released digitally on Wednesday, June 22nd through various music sites.
A new DJ will replace the spot Heechul vacates but will not be announced until July 2nd. “Youngstreet” producer Heo Geun Wook said in a report that a different idol star will host the show for the week following Heechul’s departure and one of them will be chosen as the official host.
“Youngstreet” listeners will miss DJ Heechul, but best of luck to him and his future activities!
