Kang Min Hyuk transformed into a romantic poet for upcoming MBC youth melodrama “Heartstrings.” The CN Blue drummer plays Yeo Jeon Hee, a student of classical poetry and literature lover. He is also the best friend to Lee Shin, Jung Yong Hwa’s character, and in a reversal of real-life roles, the leader of their band The Stupid.
The fresh-faced young musician and actor is expected to display a different side and show an unusual charm in his role. In a recently released photo of him in character, Min Hyuk presents a more serious and anguished expression, contrary to his usual bright and innocent appearance.
“Heartstrings” stars Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye as students who meet and fall in love in an arts and music college. The pair reteams as a couple after playing the beloved Kang Shin Woo and Go Mi Nam/Go Mi Nyu in the 2009 hit “You’re Beautiful.” Also starring Song Chang Ui, So Yi Hyun, Woori and Lee Hyun Jin, the drama is helmed by Pyo Min Soo, who directed “Coffee House,” “The World They Live In,” and the Hallyu favorite “Full House.”
“Heartstrings” begins airing on MBC on June 29th, replacing “Best Love.”
