"Protect The Boss" Ratings Pass 20% Mark

The fifth episode of SBS‘ Wednesday-Thursday drama “Protect The Boss” experienced a significant rise in ratings, passing the twenty percent mark.

AGB Neilson reports a record 20.5% rating in Seoul and 17.8% nationwide. This makes “Protect The Boss” the only currently airing drama in both the Monday-Tuesday and Wednesday-Thursday schedules to bring in more than 20% of the viewership share. It is also apparently the fastest drama to reach the figure, compared to previous hit dramas such as “City Hunter“, “49 Days” and “The Best of Love“.

This increase in ratings is attributed to the double kiss scene at the end of the episode, which involved lead characters Cha Ji Hoon (Ji Sung) and No Eun Seol (Choi Kang Hee), as well as Cha Mu Won (Kim Jaejoong) and Seo Na Yoon (Wang Ji Hye).

In response to this, the production team of the drama have stated, “As for the kiss scene with Kim Jaejoong and Wang Ji Hye, we filmed it so carefully to the degree that we even put a gag order on the production crew. The response of the viewers was heated and so we were thankful. We will be even more thankful if you will keep watching to see how the stories will unfold for the two couples who have now kissed.”

“Protect The Boss” airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:55PM KST on SBS.
