Jang Geun Suk Donates All Proceeds from His Busan Guerilla Concert


Actor Jang Geun Suk has received a lot of attention for donating all proceeds from his Busan Guerilla Concert.

Jang Geun Suk posted on his Twitter on October 10, “The second guerilla concert. Total proceeds equal 236,500 won (roughly $236.50). For what should I use this money? Shall I donate it? First, to the social welfare…”

When the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) opened on October 6, Jang Geun Suk held a sudden guerilla concert and $236,50 is what was collected during the concert.

On the following day of October 11, Jang Geun Suk posted on his Twitter along with a picture, “Donating proceeds from Haeundae Guerilla Concert complete. And I’m eating ramen. I want to do it again.” The picture was a receipt from Jang Geun Suk’s donation to the Seongdong district office. 

Jang Geun Suk only had his acoustic guitar at Haeundae as he opened a surprise guerilla concert for the many movie fans in the area. He also participated in an event called, “Open Talk” at the BIFF on October 9. During this event, he said, “Has anyone come to my concert yesterday? I played my guitar at Haeundae and made 158,000 won ($158.00). This is what you call a true interaction with the fans.” 

Netizens on Jang Geun Suk’s Twitter commented, “You’re a great person!” “No wonder you make so much money,” “You don’t waste a single penny. You’re awesome,” “I only have good things to say about you,” “You are a true free soul – respect!”
