Ji Hyun Woo on Hosting “Invincible Youth 2”: “I Want to Become Friendly With Idols”

Actor Ji Hyun Woo, who is currently appearing on the weekend drama “A Thousand Kisses,” has mostly acted with older female partners like Choi Kang Hee (Protect the Boss) and Lee Bo Young (Birth of the Rich). Ji Hyun Woo was born in 1984 and compared to other actors similar to his age like Song Joong Ki (born in 1985), Ji Hyun Woo hasn’t really had the chance to work with younger people.

As the host for the variety show, “Invincible Youth” season 2, along with Lee Soo Geun and Boom, Ji Hyun Woo is finally getting the opportunity to work with those are younger than him. The cast of “Invincible Youth” consists of female idol members SNSD’s Sunny and Hyoyeon, f(x)’s Amber, miss A’s Suzy, KARA’s Jiyoung, and SISTAR’s Bora.

On working with the younger cast, Ji Hyun Woo commented, “’Invincible Youth’ has a has a lot of idol members and I want to learn about them and become friends. Even though they are younger, I don’t think I would fall behind.” He also described the girls as innocent and feeling like his younger sisters. He added with humor, “All that’s left is for their fans to terrorize me.” The show completed its first recording recently and will air the first episode on November 12.

Ji Hyun Woo also revealed that he received inspiration from fellow actor Choi Kang Hee’s writing for a song on his recently released album. He worked with the actress in the drama “My Sweet City” and read her book, “Little Child’s Small Happiness.” He particularly found the words of an essay in the book titled “Child” warm and hopeful. He immediately called up Choi Kang Hee to get her permission to use the words and wrote his own song “Child” within five to ten minutes.

Ji Hyun Woo also appears in the movie, “Mr. Idol,” along with Jay Park. The movie will be released in Korea November 3.
