Yoo Jae Suk Performs SNSD’s "Gee" on "Running Man"

Yoo Jae Suk received a new nickname during the latest episode of “Running Man.”

During the January 15 episode of SBS “Running Man,” Ji Jin Hee, Lee Chun Hee, Joo Sang Wook, and Kim Sung Soo appeared once again for this week’s episode. In this episode the competition was a bingo board race.

The “Running Man” members had to split up into three teams. The teams were sent to an island where their task was to go on a treasure hunt to find pieces of paper with numbers written on them. Trying to find said pieces of paper was like searching for a needle in a haystack. While running around the island the teams’ awareness of each other’s presence caused them to become more frantic with their search. That’s when Yoo Jae Suk and Ji Jin Hee’s team ran into each other causing a bit of a standoff.

Yoo Jae Suk taunted Ji Jin Hee as he began singing SNSD’s “Gee,” since Jin Hee’s last name “Ji” sounded similar to “Gee.” “Hey, grasshopper! You aren’t just any grasshopper, you’re the ‘Nation’s Grasshopper’.” was Ji Jin Hee’s response to Yoo Jae Suk’s teasing.

Ji Jin Hee said to Yoo Jae Suk, “We should call you by your new nickname the Nation’s Grasshopper.” His comment caused the remaining members of “Running Man” to crack-up laughing. In that moment Yoo Jae Suk’s new nickname was born, “The Nation’s Grasshopper.”

Also during the episode singer IU made an early morning wake-up call to the “Running Man” members at their hostel. The special phone call has created quite a response online with netizens.
