Soompi Top Comments (June 21 – July 6): “maybe more these celebrities suck the more baseball players like it…”

Here are the top comments that will make you laugh, gag, or think WTF?

1. Yang Hyun Suk: “It’s Painful for Me to Look at 2NE1″

The tough president of YG EntertainmentYang Hyun Suk, expressed his surprising feelings about 2NE1’s recent comeback. He revealed that he was bothered by the fact that he was not able to give his full attention to the ladies’ return.

During the interview he explained to OSEN, “Lately, whenever I see 2NE1, it hurts me. Normally when company artists are set to make a comeback, even for the few months prior to their return I will spend night and day, eating with them, and take care of them. Although, this time was different as I failed to provide that for 2NE1.”

Yang Hyun Suk had a very busy start to the calendar year due to his involvement as a judge of SBS’ audition program, “K-Pop Star.” 2NE1 had to compete with their label-mates overlapping schedules so there was less time to focus on their comeback.

The comment:

For some reason, this comment made me scratch my head. Titles are usually misleading because they have a title that doesn’t really match with the article, so that people will click on it. But here, the title is misleading because the author wants you to click on the article, and it did make you click on it.

Is something going on with my head?

2. Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung’s Legs Are 107cm Long!

Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung is attracting attention for her long legs. On yesterday’s episode of SBS’s “One Night of TV Entertainment,” the segment featured several photos of Sooyoung and her unbelievable figure. Fellow hosts decided to measure the length of Sooyoung legs during the live show and were astounded to see that her legs were 107 cm (3 ft 6 in) longs. Her legs measured 5cm (1.97 in) longer than her co-host Yoon Do Hyun despite being taller than her.

The comment:

Don’t worry hon, it’s not about the length, it’s about how you use it!

*wink wink*

3. f(x)’s Krystal: “My Face Is Too Average”

f(x) Krystal says that her face is average and people get into a debate whether that is true. Then suddenly WHAM we get this hateful comment.

4. New Regulation That Might Shake Up K-Pop World: Music Videos Require Review Before Online Releases

News broke out about new regulations set by the Korea Media Rating Board (Hereafter, KMRB) that has the potential to shake up the K-Pop world.

Basically, in the past if a music video was too explicit or racy and did not get any airtime on a broadcast channel, the music video could still be put up on YouTube and be used for marketing and promotional purposes.

However, beginning on August 18 all of that is about to change.

In the past, if a music video was posted online without receiving any kind of money, it was excluded from being reviewed by the KMRB. However, from August 18 the music video must receive an “OK” from the KMRB in order to be posted online.

The clip will now require to be labeled with “For the general public,” “For people over 12 and 15 years old,” “Not Suitable for Teenagers,” and “Restricted Viewing.” (Videos that were already reviewed by a broadcasting company will not be under this new regulation.)

Currently, there are no specific guidelines as to what websites will be covered by this new regulation. (Will it include teasers, YouTube clips, Google Video, and etc.)

The comment:

Most of the comments were complaints about the new regulation, attacks on South Korea’s government, and questions asking why? However, out of all of these comments, this one stuck out like a sore thumb and intrigued me. “It’s for their own good.” I don’t really disagree or agree, it just made me curious, what this Soompier’s opinion was~

5. JYP Cops a Feel of Min Hyo Rin’s Chest!

For Saturday Night LiveJYP copped a feel of Min Hyo Rin’s chest!

6. Krystal Gets Her Tongue On

Krystal sticks out her tongue during a broadcast and many spoke about it being cute, or being better than her usual “attitude problems.” One Soompier was curious whether tongues can be attractive or not.

I just wanted to say, some tongues are very attractive *wink*

7. If Jang Dong Gun Wears or Eats it on “A Gentleman’s Dignity” it Will Sell!

Jang Dong Gun is a walking advertisement because of the character “Kim Do Jin” on the SBS drama “A Gentleman’s Dignity.” It appears that anything he wears or eats is selling out online. Even the car that he drives on the show or the pins that he wears comes up as search engine terms. For example, Jang Dong Gun appeared on the TV series with a clothing pin that is worth more than $1,000. The pin is currently sold out. On the show Jang Dong Gun is always eating vitamins with water. Viewers of the show are asking internet vitamin shops where they can purchase the vitamins.

Enter papabear.

Hmm the way that papabear sounds in his comment reminds me of the following clip I saw recently.

8. T-ara Members Sport “Traffic Light” Hair

T-ara‘s traffic light hair photo is quickly spreading on the Web. On June 26, Hyomin posted a laughing emoticon along with two photos on her Twitter.

The first one is a picture of three colored light bulbs, blue, green and red, which indicates a traffic light. In the second photo, you can see Eunjung with dark blue hair, Qri with green hair and Hyomin with reddish pink hair. They are sitting exactly in the order of the above light bulb photo!

Wait a minute… there are blue traffic lights?

Yes Korean traffic lights are that color actually. Green is for go and red is for stop. Blue…. Well, for blue this is what you do:

9. SISTAR Dasom’s Ceremonial Baseball Pitch

On June 20 SISTAR’s Dasom threw the ceremonial pitch for the Doosan Bears vs. Nexen Heroes game. When the news was first announced, Dasom had stated, “Thank you for inviting me as the ceremonial pitcher for such a significant game. I will practice hard and show you a good pitch.”

Although the following comment, wasn’t meant to be funny at all. It made everyone in the office flip out. You win!
