“Gangnam Style” Soars to #11 on This Week’s Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart

PSY’s megahit single “Gangnam Style” has jumped up 53 slots to reach #11 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. This made PSY the highest ranking K-Pop artist in history on the Billboard Hot 100, after making his debut just last week at #64.

PSY’s rise on the chart was extensively covered by Billboard.biz, as it reported:

“K-Pop phenomenon Psy soars 64-11 with “Gangnam Style,” which rockets 25-4 on Hot Digital Songs (188,000, up 210%). Psy appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and NBC’s “Today” last week and made a cameo on the season premiere of the network’s “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend (Sept. 15). “Gangnam,” buoyed by the buzz of its accompanying dance featuring horse riding-influenced moves, simultaneously gallops onto On-Demand Songs at No. 43 (300,000) and Hot 100 Airplay (19 million, up 131%).”
