The two actors joined UN World Programme (WFP) to visit the People’s Republic of Congo in Africa. The country was in a poor condition from the violence of the on-going civil war.
Jang Dong Gun told how shocking the whole situation was for him, “The life condition of Goma refugees was beyond what I expected. The mothers chewed leaves to breastfeed the babies and children drank from puddles of cold ground water.”
Jang Dong Gun also told he must step forward to help people in difficulties, “I would like to ask anyone who is watching ‘Hope TV’ to support these people.”
Meanwhile, Kim Min Jong added, “I was also very shocked. The living condition of Africans was shocking. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was saddened at the sight of children eating, playing and living. UN helped us after Korean War. This time, it is our turn to help the poor.”
The program will air on November 16.
