Singer PSY recently made an appearance on one of America’s most well known entertainment magazines, “The Hollywood Reporter.”
Launched in 1930, the magazine has been thriving ever since its debut. It is on par with “Variety” as one of the two pillars in the leading American entertainment magazines.
On December 19, the latest issue of the magazine was released titled “Rule Breakers.” In this exclusive end-of-the-year edition, a total of seven teams were chosen; those who set a new record for the American entertainment industry for the entire year of 2012.
Amongst them was PSY with well known celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and film directors Steven Spielberg and Kathryn Bigelow. There are four versions of the cover and PSY managed to get a spot on the front page.
An article in “The Hollywood Reporter” told the story of PSY along with President Obama and his family including American officials attending the ‘Christmas in Washington’ holiday event.
According to this article, “PSY claimed, ‘After the performance, President Obama stated that he is also good at the horse-riding dance, but had to stop because his wife was embarrassed’ and gave a jokingly greeting.”
Meanwhile on December 21, PSY’s “Gangnam Style” was recorded 18th place on the American Billboard main single chart, ‘Hot 100’ list. Although it went down seven places from last week’s 11th place, the song seems to be receiving lots of recognition; being acclaimed daily in numerous year-end award shows and famous overseas media appraisals.
MTV America named PSY as “This Year’s Viral Sensation.” His “Gangnam Style” music video has now passed one billion views on Youtube. Meanwhile, the sensational singer is planning to announce his new global album sometime in February or March of next year.
