JYJ’s Kim Junsu and singer turned musical actress Ock Ju Hyun sold the most musical tickets in 2012.
On January 7, online ticket retailer Interpark announced the winners of the “2012 Golden Ticket Awards.” Unlike other awards, “The Golden Ticket Awards” chooses the winners based only on popular vote and ticket sales. In the musical category, the musical “Elizabeth,” starring Kim Junsu and Ock Ju Hyun, sold the most tickets.
In the 2012 Korean adaptation of “Elizabeth” Kim Junsu plays the character Death, and his unique portrayal of the character has won much praise from audiences. After “Mozart” and “Tears of Heaven,” Kim Junsu has shed his idol image and became a musical star with “Elizabeth.”
Kim Junsu’s popularity does not end with musicals. In 2012 not only was he busy personifying death, he also had his “JYJ Junsu 1st Asia Tour” and “XIA Ballad & Musical Concert.” Kim Junsu is also the number one concert ticket seller because of those two concerts.
