Anchor Criticized for Speaking Negatively About JYJ, C-JeS Talks About Apology

Fans were delighted when they found out that JYJ would be appearing on television to perform for president Park Geun Hye’s inauguration ceremony. However, after the event was televised, fans were outraged at some of the remarks made by a news anchor, who was giving the live commentary of the ceremony.

The ceremony was televised on Channel A and anchor Park Jong Jin and reporter Lee Hyun Soo were on set to give the commentary of the ceremony. When JYJ was performing, Park Jong Jin and Lee Hyun Soo made comments such as, “That’s the group called JYJ. You don’t really know them, right?” and “They’re the ones who tumbled out from DBSK.”

He also said things like, “Compared to those flashy performances on a stage with lights, this performance seems like they’re singing in a karaoke.”

Reporter Lee Hyun Soo tried to patch things up by saying, “It was kind of all over the place but the fact that JYJ stood on this stage has a big meaning,” but netizens and fans were already angered.

On February 26, C-JeS Entertainment spoke with My Daily and said, “The basics of a news channel is to give commentary. Their job is to deliver the facts about the program and the guest stars to the viewers. It’s a shame that these basics were not kept at such a big national event. We believe that the apology should be made for the viewers rather than our agency or the JYJ fans.”

Channel A then spoke with OSEN on February 26 and stated, “Anchor Park Jong Jin did not mean to speak negatively about JYJ and he asks for forgiveness from all the JYJ fans,” and “Reporter Lee Hyun Soo only meant that JYJ is the group that separated from DBSK.”

Channel A continued, “About the stage location and lights– since the event staff did not prepare a better stage and since people were coming and going because it was the beginning of the ceremony, the atmosphere was a bit rowdy. That was what they meant.”

Anchor Park Jong Jin appeared on a show later on and apologized, “I ask for forgiveness from JYJ and all of the JYJ fans. I only said it seemed like a karaoke because the stage wasn’t good enough for their performance. I never had intentions to speak ill of JYJ. I officially apologize.”

What? Tumbled out?????! o.O I'm very angry right now! Yes, they were former TVXQ members. Yes, they filed a lawsuit against SM ENTERTAINMENT. Yes, they maybe look negative but they're still humans! Must they be disrespected like that? NO! Never! Come on the anti-s, the hackers, the whatever-you-call-yourselves, be positive! Be like a human! I know you anti-s are all humans too, yeah?

I don't like JYJ either... come and hate me!rn It's not even just fans. It's disrespectful to all viewers. You don't have to be a fan but when you are watching a performance or a movie, do you want someone to talk throughout the show?! And not just that.. talk shit throughout the show? Well, if you do, then continue to back up these reporters. They are clearly unprofessional and they only made excuses to what they said. And yes, I am a DBSK and JYJ fan, but no matter which group I'm watching, I don't want to be disturbed with reporters talking through the whole thing. This is clearly disrespect and you think we are overreacting. But you should also read the other comments that are not just JYJ fans, and they are not too happy too..except for people that does like narrations in their shows.

For crying out loud... They're commentators... Big friggn deal. Move the eff along. I see so many people butt hurt over this incident so I had to search it up thinking it was some big deal. People get a life. JYJ themselves couldn't care less abt this incident. All I see are reporters, news agencies and JYJ publicists having the time of their lives working up a 'scandal' to victimize the poor JYJ.... JYJ don't need this. They strong.

Although they apologized, their apology isn't good enough. For them to be in the reporting industry, to be unprofessional and to say things like that needs a bigger punishment other than going on TV again to apologize.rn Honestly, their apology seem like they found a loophole in their commentary to just settle the fans. But it just came out half ass.

They should apologize. I'm not a fan of JYJ but talking about professionalism here. That was out of line and unnecessary, especially if it was at the Presidential Inauguration. But the two anchors be prepared to be verbally attacked and verbally murdered by JYJ's fans. They killed themselves by being so open about their opinions. To be honest, the industry and the people in it probably know about the situation and "rumored" allegations against CJes better than netizens and ourselves as fans or nonfans. They probably know more about the whole thing which is probably why they weren't afraid to make those comments. BUT regardless, they need to give a well deserved apology and just be hopeful that their careers don't end there.

Excuse me but they should apologize! This was a very important event, a presidential inauguration that was watched by people around the world. JYJ was invited to this event precisely because they're loved by fans around the world. These fans, me included and I was watching from Puerto Rico, a long way from Korea were waiting anxiously for JYJ's performance and we felt awful because their performance was cut short by Korean tv stations and on top of it, these anchors were talking stupid comments during the whole performance! They should apologize because they were disrespectful to all JYJ fans in Korea and around the world who only wanted to watch their performance without interruption! Thank God japanese tv stations were kind enough and respectful to present all JYJ's performance so we could watch it later, otherwise, we would have missed it! It's a shame Korean tv stations made a mess of this important event! :/

There's a difference between giving your professional commentary and making disparaging comments. Obviously not everyone has to like JYJ and there's absolutely nothing wrong with saying you don't like them, but to express it in the manner that and in what is meant to be in their PROFESSIONAL capacity, then there is some sort of problem here. Anyways I don't think its that big of a deal, but so many people seem to react as if Park Jong Jin and Lee Hyun Soo are the 'victims' here, which I don't feel is the case. They didn't accord the performers their due respect and if people want to criticise them just as they have criticised others then I don't think its unwarranted.

But as anchor, you shouldn't be biased. You can't express personal opinion. Whether you hate or like, do it professionally. Even not for JYJ's issue, the way he deliver his commentary also not reflects himself as an anchor/ professionally. why should he bother to review so detail about the group, stage or etc. The main theme is the President Inauguration. So far, no one bother to review about JYJ's past on air. Dealing in this industry, they should watch out their action. Who know someday the table will turn the other way.

The anchor shouldn't have to apologize to giving his opinion. That was his job for the day.
