Lee Ji Ah Gets Into Accident with Police Car

The actress Lee Ji Ah got into a car accident with a police car on April 6. The news of this accident broke out today on April 8. According to one Korean source, Lee Ji Ah had consumed alcohol, so she subsequently called a proxy driver. On her way back home, the proxy driver got into a car accident with a police car at Seoul, Nonhyeon-dong.

Lee Ji Ah’s agency stated, “It was a small car accident that occurred because of the proxy driver’s inexperienced driving skills. Nobody was hurt, Lee Ji Ah’s condition is ok.” Although Lee Ji Ah wasn’t hurt, it is being said that she was very surprised because of the incident and is currently resting.

There were rumors going around that the amount for repairs is around $30,000. A representative of her agency denied this rumor, “The repair fee has not been calculated yet. I don’t know where the number $30,000 appeared.

In Korea, getting in an accident with a police car is the same as a civilian car. If that happened in the US, where the police are like The Gestapo, the driver would have been arrested and they would have charged him with something.

I read various articles on different websites, that the "inexperienced driver" is not literally mean that he was totally an inexperienced driver but rather he was inexperienced in driving that kind of car, an Italian made sedan, Maserati Quatrroporte GTS, which not commonly used . If the driver was really sober then for sure LJA would not allow him to drive, and if the driver was under the influence of alcohol for sure it would be reflected or noted in various articles, but so far only one article had mentioned it, thus his news item article was unreliable. That designated driver should be truthful enough and told LJA beforehand that he was unfamiliar in driving that car, since some imported cars had different mechanism compared to Korean or Japan cars.

how ironic. she got a designated driver so she wouldn't have to drive home and get into an accident. and the one who got into an accident is the one who is sober. oh boy.

Title was misleading. Good thing she didn't drive while drunk (or being tipsy).

I respect her for not driving after drinking, though.
