New Girl Group to Bring Twerking to K-Pop?

A new girl group, Wassup, is set to debut, but plans on distinguishing themselves by… twerking?

Sony Music Korea and Mafia Record have recently announced they will be joining hands to create a new 7-member girl group. The group, consisting of members Jinju, Nari, Nada, Dain, Woojoo, Sujin, and Jiae, aims to differentiate themselves from the other debuting girl groups by incorporating “dancehall” music and twerking in their debut. The girls have been training for the past 3 years.

“Wassup will be different from the other girl groups because of their eye-catching concept. They will aim to spread hip-hop music through their various activities,” Sony Music Korea says.

Wassup will be making their official debut on music show Show Champion at 6PM KST on August 7th. What do you think about their debut concept?
