Song Joong Ki Starts Military Service Today

Actor Song Joong Ki is leaving fans for 21 months as he starts his mandatory military service today. He said his goodbye to his fans and the press before he entered the 102th unit at Chuncheon, Gangwon-do. He will receive four weeks of basic military training and then officially start his active duty.

The actor spent the night before with his family who had traveled up to Seoul from his hometown Daejeon. Fans from all over Asia flocked to say goodbye to Song Joong Ki today, and he greeted his fans with a smile, taking off his cap to speak to the fans and press. He said, “Thank you for coming all this way. Thank you for your concern.” He spoke briefly to the press for about three minutes and then set off to enter the base with fans crying out their goodbyes and well wishes. 

Song Joong Ki is leaving his career on a high note after his successful run with the 2012 drama “Nice Guy”  (aka “Innocent Man”) and the 2012 movie “A Werewolf Boy.”
