Girl group GI (Global Icon) has just released their first mini album “ Tremendous,” but the group will be unable to promote their title track, “Don’t Lie (Feat. Dok2) on the three terrestrial networks, KBS, SBS, and MBC. Instead, the group will promote “ㄱ.” The name of this song is the first letter of the Korean alphabet which when read is a homonym with the Korean word for “memory.” The title holds the meaning of wanting listeners to remember GI.
“Don’t Lie,” which features rapper Dok2 and was produced by NACO, was worked on by GI for an year, and this decision brings huge disappointment for the group. Their agency, Sim Tong Entertainment, stated, “They worked on this song for a long time. They are disappointed that they won’t be able to perform the song because of this decision. But “ㄱ” is also a good track so please look forward to their performance of it on terrestrial network music shows.” “ㄱ” is produced by BEATMIN.
GI will have their first comeback stage for “Tremendous” on September 4 through the cable channel music show, “Show Champion.”
