SBS variety show “Hwashin” will be cancelled after being on air for seven months and will be replaced by a new show.
According to multiple sources on September 24, the show will wrap up with the fall season at the end of this month. A representative of SBS told CBS No Cut News, “It has been decided that the show ‘Hwashin’ will be cancelled. It is likely that the show will be replaced by a new show titled, ‘Heart Beats‘.”
“Hwashin” first went on the air in February with hosts Shin Dong Yeob, Yoon Jong Shin, and Kim Hee Sun. Later, Yoon Jong Shin was replaced by Kim Gu Ra and Bong Tae Gyu. The show recently changed its format to a live show but received criticism that the new format was distracting. Consequently, the show also struggled in its ratings.
The new show “Heart Beats” will be a program with Park Ki Woong, Jo Dong Hyukm, Lee Won Joong, Jeon Hye Bin, Choi Yoo Shik, and Jang Dong Hyuk transforming into firefighters to learn about nobility of sacrifice and value of human life.
Another representative of SBS told TV Report, “While it is true that we are reorganization the Fall schedule, ‘Hwashin’s’ cancellation and its replacement show has not been confirmed. We are in the process of making a decision.”
Actress and MC of the show Kim Hee Sun had her representative tell TV Report, “We did not hear any official statement from the staff of ‘Hwashin’.” The rep also stated that the actress did not have any upcoming schedules that conflict with the show.
