The ‘gambling basketball’ scene has been receiving a lot of anticipation as an intense action scene, one of director Kwak Jeong Hwan’s fortes. The scene will portray the passionate competition with money at stake in the back alleys of Namdaemun in the 1940s.
While the cast is great as well, there will be many nerve-wracking, difficult action scenes that will keep viewers on the edges of their seats. The rough physical contact on court and foul play is sometimes reminiscent of boxing matches.
Oh Ji Ho and Lee Jung Jin will play two dominating players on the gambling court. With a strong impression at the beginning of the first episode, they will be sure to attract many viewers. Anticipation for these two actors has already been growing with the release of a scene from the gambling court.
Both of these actors had previously worked with director Kwak Jeong Hwan: Oh Ji Ho in “Slave Hunter” (2010) and Lee Jung Jin in “Fugitive: Plan B” (2010).
“Basketball” portrays the story of youth in Korea during the Japanese occupation, when sports were the only way Koreans were able to defeat the Japanese at the time, and carries with it a meaning much deeper than that of just basketball.
“Basketball” will air its first episode on October 21.
