According to the Seoul Mapo Police Department, Joo Suk was busted for drink-driving in the Hapjeong-dong area at around 1:00 AM on November 4.
Joo Suk was charged with violation of traffic laws for driving under the influence, and had his license revoked after recording a blood alcohol level of 0.115%.
A hip-hop icon in his own right, Joo Suk is a first-generation rapper who is credited with helping to bring hip hop into the mainstream. He debuted in 1997 under the name of “Warren.” He has been praised for raising the quality of rhyme- and beat-making in Korean hip hop music.
Joo Suk appeared in Mnet’s audition program “Show Me The Money” in June this year, advancing to the final round and reinforcing his musical presence. He took to Twitter on the recent diss battle between hip hop artists, commenting that there was no point making a diss song if it was going to just be all about swearing. Joo Suk recently established his own label, Finest Records.
