An exclusive report by news media outlet OSEN has revealed that the talented actress and variety show star Song Ji Hyo has been cast to lead tvN’s tentatively named drama “A May’s Garden” set to air after “Reply 1994.” She will be joined by actor Choi Jin Hyuk, currently appearing in the drama “The Heirs,” as the other lead in tvN’s latest project.

According to OSEN’s sources, Song Ji Hyo and Choi Jin Hyuk have been cast as the two leads in tvN’s tentatively named drama “A May’s Garden.” It is supposedly set to be a romantic medical drama, penned by scriptwriter Choi Yoon Jung, whose previous work include “Lie To Me” featuring Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan, and MBC’s “Running9.”

According to OSEN, the synopsis for the drama involves the story of a couple who figure out the true meaning of love after going through the whole process of dating, marriage and divorce. The setting of the drama will be a hospital where the fight between life or death in the emergency room helps the two lead individuals to finally develop as a person in a genuine way.

The story is set to be a fresh take on the tried and true romantic medical drama concept through this concept of a previously separated reuniting at the hospital and developing together once again. The character names will supposedly be Jung Oh Wol and Oh Jung Won with a lot of people in the industry eager to see how the two actors work together in what is their first project together.

tvN has recently been making a name for itself for airing a series of solid dramas, with fresh ideas and solid stories such as the “Reply 1997-1994” series, “Who Are You,” “Monstar,” “Nine,” “Flower Boy Next Door” and numerous other hit dramas. Their recent ability to show off dramas of a different cut to what viewers have become used to on the main terrestrial broadcasters has seen the channel rise in prominence in recent years. Given this kind of track record, it’s reasonable to be quite expectant about “A May’s Garden,” especially given that it will replacing the current hit tvN drama, “Reply 1994.”

Further details about tvN’s exciting new project will be revealed in the near future.
