In “The Huntresses,” a historical action comedy soon to be released on January 29, Ha Ji Won will be showing off her charismatic masculine side.
In the movie, also starring Kang Ye Won and Brown Eyed Girls’ Son Gain, Ha Ji Won plays bounty hunter Jin Ok, who will go far and wide if there is a bounty involved. Not only has she mastered combat skills that can easily put down any guy, Jin Ok has various talents, one of which is disguise. We will see Ha Ji Won’s various transformations and deceptive antics as a man.
In stills released by Showbox on January 6, we see Jin Ok (Ha Ji Won) with short hair in various guy looks from a ‘modern boy’ to a witty aristocrat. According to a movie official, Ha Ji Won personally suggested to director Park Jae Hyun the male disguises in order to create a step more interesting character for Jin Ok.
Ha Ji Won has recent experience with male disguise in her current MBC drama, “Empress Ki,” dressing as a male in order to escape her captors in the beginning of the drama, and subsequently winning the hearts of Wang Yoo (Joo Jin Mo) and Ta Hwan (Ji Chang Wook).
Moreover, Ha Ji Won isn’t the only master of disguise in “The Huntresses.” Co-stars Kang Ye Won and Son Gain, in the roles of Hong Dan and Gabi, respectively, also will be getting into various disguises, like geishas and salesmen.
