JYJ member Park Yoochun spent a very special new year with 1000 of his Japanese fans.
CJeS Entertainment said, “Park Yoochun held his ‘Park Yoo Chun 2014 Happy New Year Fan Meeting in Seoul’ on January 25. It was definitely a day to remember for the 1000 Japanese fans that came to Korea for the meeting with Park Yoochun.”
The JYJ member started the fan meeting off singing Kim Dong Ryool’s “Old Song,” after which he received ground shaking cheers and applause. He then had a cake cutting ceremony to celebrate his first fan meeting of 2014 as well as the 10th anniversary of his debut, and at the fans’ chant of ‘We were waiting for you,’ he replied, ‘I’ve missed you too.’”
Park Yoochun said to the fans, “I think meeting with you has made me more positive and confident,” looking back on the past 10 years of his career and revealing his plans for this year. He also gifted a picture of a horse that he drew to celebrate the year of the horse to one of his fans through a lottery drawing.
After talking with his fans, they played some games together, such as the traditional game of yoot, played on New Year’s, as well as various other games such as rock-paper-scissors with toy hammers, a palm-pushing game, and a treasure hunt, gifting the winners with a polaroid photo with the singer and his personal cologne.
At the end, he sang “Walk With Her in the Spring,” a song that he personally composed and revealed as a surprise during the JYJ Tokyo Dome Tour last April.
A fan meeting official said, “The reaction of the fans during the new year fan meeting was impressive, and the fact that 1000 people flew in on the day of the fan meeting is unprecedented. Following the drama ‘Rooftop Prince,’ Park Yoochun wasn’t able to visit Japan due to movie and drama preparations, so he held this special fan meeting, which gave it even more meaning.”
Park Yoochun commented, “This was my first fan meeting in a long time, and it was really fun. This year, I want to hold performances in Japan with the rest of the members of JYJ (Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu).”
Park Yoochun is currently filming his new movie “Sea Fog,” and also has an upcoming drama in February in which he plays the lead, called “Three Days.”
