Rain to Film His First “Running Man” Appearance in Australia

Singer and actor Rain will be joining “Running Man” cast for a special episode to be shot in Australia.

The “Running Man” staff reached out to the star, who gave a positive response in return. According to one SBS entertainment rep, “Rain has decided to participate in the filming of ‘Running Man’ taking place in Australia. However, because he has a packed schedule it’s still up in the air whether he will be departing with the staff.”

This would be Rain’s first time appearing on “Running Man.” Since Rain is athletic, many are looking forward to seeing him on the show. There may also be a possibility that other top stars might appear on the show, however the SBS entertainment rep made no promises. “Beside Rain’s appearance on the show, nothing else has been decided on. When the right time comes along, the staff will reveal the details,” said the representative.

So far, “Running Man” has filmed in Thailand, Macao and Vietnam. It will be the first time “Running Man” will film outside of Asia. The Australian tourist commission personally invited “Running Man” to film an episode there, attesting to the outstanding popularity of the show. The news of Rain’s participation in the show has also boosted interest in Australia as well.

I would love for them to come to Melbourne. It would be so fantastic, and I'd love to see them!! But they are most-likely to go to Sydney. :(

I'm kinda skeptical about the reception they will get in Australia since I don't think they will get welcomed as superstars like in Hong Kong, China or Vietnam... Rain's presence isn't likely to change anything to it either. The odds of getting the cold shoulder by the locals is pretty high to me.

It reminds me of the days before the Wonder Girls became famous, Yoo Jaesuk was still a nobody in Japan and finding even ONE person familiar with K-shows/K-pop was mission impossible. Those trips were hard to watch without feeling horribly bad for our Nation's MC. I hope SBS know what they are doing.

@supermichel  clearly you didn't see the reception EYK got over at Sydney.

Just pointing out Australia's population per area is a fraction of HK (high density population), China (should I even bother explaining?) and Vietnam (typical South Asia population). It's to be expected that they won't have over a million fans to receive them at the airport or at events but the fans here would give them the best trip possible with equally the amount of support and excitement our Asia counterparts can give. Take it that they're here for a holiday, away from the bustle of the major cities and countries that was listed above.

They will have plenty of fresh air, fans that love them, very constant great weather while they come down here

and we have koalas bitches!

@TsuJT_1
I don't think any of us could make any useful conclusion based on 1 crowd filled with fans only, whether you talk about Korea or another country.

For instance last time I went to a Davichi fan-sign event in Gangnam the few hundreds of people crowded into some thousands of people it was amazing, whereas at a 2AM event in Dongdaemun hardly gathered a hundred people for some fashion & music event. I also remember some KBS TV show recording near the Han River, the crowd mostly consisted of ajummas and ajusshis who did not know any of the minor celebrities actresses/singers except for the main MCs lol. What I mean is that nothing is guaranteed despite being popular, or even hallyu star doesn't always help you wrapping up a good event/recording. I am not even talking about a foreign country but events in very popular public places in Seoul.

Being pessimistic or optimistic has nothing to do with the success of the episode, it's all about SBS production team's capacity of preparing a fun trip, in other words: we can't do anything about it!
