M.I.B’s Kangnam to Take On Trot for Audition Show “Trot X”

Kangnam of hip hop group M.I.B will be giving his take on trot.

He will be the first idol to appear on MNet’s “Trot X” and showcase the variety of his singing ability. Being the main vocal of M.I.B, it will be interesting to see how his fresh and unique voice will fit the genre of trot.

“I grew up in Japan with my Korean mother and Japanese father, but I grew up listening to a lot of trot. When I went to noraebang with my parents, I enjoyed listening to trot, and at the time I listened to Tae Jin Ah and Sul Woon Do‘s songs a lot,” Kangnam revealed. “Whenever I had a hard time when I first came to Korea, I get rid of my worries by listening to trot, and whenever I missed my parents, I cheered myself up by listening to trot. In my life so far, trot has been the type of music that makes me feel the most comfortable,” and continued to explain the reason behind him joining the show.

Kangnam also revealed that fellow M.I.B members have given him their full support. “When I go to noraebang with the members and managers, we always sing trot songs the most. Our manager in particular is good at singing trot. I could call him my trot teacher,” he shared.
