Shin Sung Rok Poses with His Chef Brother

Shin Sung Rok for Styler

Actor Shin Sung Rok, well-known for his role as a villain in SBS drama “Man From The Stars,” recently joined his younger brother Shin Je Rok in a photoshoot for the May issue of Styler magazine.

Shin Je Rok is a former basketball player of the LG Sakers who is now a successful chef of his own restaurant specializing in Morioka reimen. He is the only chef in Korea who can make this cold noodle dish. The brothers are shown in Shin Je Rok’s newly opened restaurant in the Styler photoshoot.

“At first the noodles were so different from Korean cold noodles they put me off. But a couple of days later, after a night of drinking, I was suddenly reminded of this dish. It’s really delicious, and I’m not saying this because I’m his brother,” said Shin Sung Rok.

When asked to objectively criticize his brother’s noodles, Shin Sung Rok said, “Retired athlete, starts second life with a restaurant?” It’s hard to describe Shin Je Rok with just this sentence. Retiring after a waist injury, Shin Je Rok flew to Japan where he worked 16 hours a day learning how to make Morioka reimen.

It was the older brother who brought the younger brother to the basketball court. Shin Sung Rok was also a basketball player before he retired due to injuries and became an actor. Looking at his younger brother, who already has two children, Shin Sung Rok said that he was really envious as the children are so cute.

On giving up basketball, Shin Sung Rok said that he could have regretted his decision if he was living a more boring life, but now that he is living an exciting and adventurous life as an actor, he is happy with the decisions he has made.
