The chemistry between Park Soo Kwang (Lee Kwang Soo) and Ji Hae Soo (Gong Hyo Jin) on “It’s Okay It’s Love” is garnering much attention. For Soo Kwang, Hae Soo was his first kiss, but right now he is just a supporter of Hae Soo, who treats him comfortably like a younger brother and sometimes has his back. But whenever Soo Kwang stands up for Hae Soo in times of need, it becomes an unfortunate situation for him and this gives comic relief to the viewers.

Lee Kwang Soo’s character, Soo Kwang, is a young man suffering from Tourette Syndrome. Despite having this disorder, he has a confident and bright personality that exudes positive energy. His protective behavior towards Hae Soo enhances his innocent image in the drama, and his consequent simple yet charming character is gaining popularity among viewers.

Here are four ways that categorize Soo Kwang’s affections toward Hae Soo:

1. If you get hurt, I’ll get revenge!

When Soo Kwang found out that Hae Soo’s boyfriend, Choi Ho (Do Sang Woo), was cheating on her, he couldn’t repress his anger and threw a slice of pizza at him. He even started to attack him physically, which caused an intervention by Jae Yeol (Jo In Sung) and Dong Min (Sung Dong Il), leading to an out-of-control scramble. In the heat of the moment, the entire dinner scene turned into chaos, which caused laughter among viewers.

2. If you don’t like it, I don’t like it!

When Hae Soo started avoiding Jae Yeol for revealing the fact that her boyfriend had been cheating on her, Soo Kwang joined in and started to treat Jae Yeol like an invisible being as well. Whenever Jae Yeol entered the scene, Hae Soo and Soo Kwang both avoided him by leaving the room or completely ignoring his existence.

3. Your belongings? I’ll protect them!

Soo Kwang despises the fact that Soh Nyeo (Lee Sung Kyung) uses and steals Hae Soo’s belongings at will. When Hae Soo arrives home, he yells, “Nuna!” at the top of his lungs and runs towards her to tell her about Soh Nyeo’s behavior. This looked like a child tattling to a mother about someone else’s misdeeds, which adds to his innocent character.

4. Worrying about you? I’ll do it!

The only one that had been bothered by the fact that Hae Soo spent a night with Jae Yeol was Soo Kwang. When Soo Kwang confronts Dong Min and Hae Soo’s older sister, Yoon Soo (Choi Moon Kyung), asking, “Don’t you think Hae Soo was forcefully taken advantage of by a player like Jae Yeol?” Soo Kwang gets his first shock when they respond with delight rather than worry or anger. His second shock came when Jae Yeol personally confirmed, “We drank and even kissed.”

In this week’s episode of “It’s Okay, It’s Love,” Hae Soo realizes that she constantly thinks about Jae Yeol and even starts to wait for him to come home. But Jae Yeol breaks her expectations and they go back to bickering. However, they coincidentally find out about each other’s secrets, and consequently, they begin to see the other in a different light as they spend more time together. Viewers are nervously waiting for what kinds of changes will occur in their relationship in future episodes.

“It’s Okay It’s Love” airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays on SBS. The main characters include Jo In Sung, Gong Hyo Jin, Lee Kwang Soo, Sung Dong Il, and EXO’s D.O.
