Pope Francis’ biggest objective while visiting Korea was the Sixth Asia Youth Day held on August 13 in which he talked with about 2,000 people and children.
After the Mass of Assumption Day, which is being held at the Daejeon World Cup Stadium on August 15, is over, Pope Francis will have a luncheon with 17 youthful representatives from 17 different countries at the Catholic University of Daejeon. What is eye catching is that BoA is among those representatives. BoA (Christian name: Chiara) is a devout Catholic and is active as the ambassador for Asia Youth Day.
There have been many ups and downs for BoA on becoming the ambassador. While she is able to attend the luncheon on August 15, it will be hard for her to attend the 5 kilometer pilgrimage on the August 16 and the final festival in Chungnam because of previous scheduled performances.
Father Park Jin Hong, managing director of the preparation committee for Asia Youth Day sent an urgent text to BoA’s mother stating “BoA’s attendance is important,” and he received a text from BoA’s mother stating “I have been waiting for this text.” The two texts have confirmed BoA’s attendance.
Pope Francis will be in Korea for four nights and five days, meeting people at Asia Youth Day. After the luncheon on August 15, Pope Francis will have a meeting with the youth at the Solmoe Holy Ground and will hold the final mass on August 17 at the Haemieupseong Fortress.
