Idol-Powered Film “The Youth” to Premiere in Three Asian Countries

The new film “The Youth,” which features idol stars Super Junior’s Lee Donghae, 4Minute’s Nam Ji Hyun, and FTISLAND’s Song Seung Hyun, will be making a grand international premiere in three Asian countries, proving the great influence and power that idol stars have.

The idol-powered film “The Youth” is reportedly scheduled to premiere in Hong Kong and Taiwan in November and December, respectively. The film is also set to premiere in Japan and other countries by the first half of next year.

“The Youth,” which was first screened at the Jeonju International Film Festival, was introduced at the film market of the Cannes Film Festival and was sold to distributors from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and other Asian countries. There’s also said to be inquiries coming from Vietnam, Indonesia, and other countries so an extended sale of the film is expected.

“This is a product that sends out a message to the those in their teens,” said the film distributor Deltamac, which previously brought the films “Secretly, Greatly,” “The Commitment,” and “The Suspect” to Hong Kong, showing great anticipation of the film.

The movie “The Youth” features four stories about youth that have different problems. Super Junior’s Lee Donghae is featured in “The Rumor,”4Minute’s Nam Ji Hyun is in “Wonderwall,” and FTISLAND’s Song Seung Hyun is in “Enemies All Around.” Actress So Eun Ah features in “Playgirl.”
