On December 15, actor Lee Jun Ki volunteered with fans in a neighborhood in the Seodaemun district of Seoul. In the midst of a snowstorm, Lee Jun Ki and his fans delivered a total of 1200 briquettes to households in need, spreading warmth both literally and figuratively.
Despite being busy filming in China for the movie “In the Sicily Sun,” Lee Jun Ki made time to volunteer with his fans, who set up the community service project themselves. The project consisted of not just the delivery of briquettes but also fundraising, through which a separate 10,000 briquettes were donated.
Lee Jun Ki was not afraid of getting his hands dirty and proactively participated throughout the day, from delivering briquettes to cleaning up the debris left over afterwards. He treated all of the fans who participated to a meal afterwards.
A staff worker on site commented, “We were touched to see [Lee Jun Ki] and his fans working hard to the very end despite the wind and snow. It is rare to find an actor and fans who would stay to the very end and even clean up after themselves.”
