YG Entertainment’s Yang Hyun Suk has hinted that the entertainment company’s newest boy group, iKON, will be making its highly-anticipated debut early next year.

This information was revealed to a reporter whose request for an interview was declined by Yang Hyun Suk. “I couldn’t spare some time because I’m busy working on iKON’s debut preparations,” reasoned Yang Hyun Suk when he declined the interview request. “I won’t look back to the past. I even lack the time to prepare the things that YG has to do in the future,” the added. However, he left one message, “Please look forward to iKON.”

According to a representative from YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun Suk has poured all his energy and attention into this upcoming group that aside from his responsibilities in the SBS audition program “K-pop Star,” he busies himself with the debut album preparation of iKON.

“Because iKON is composed of young people who have experienced the bitter taste of life, their desire to win and zest for life are stronger. They even possess the ability to make songs in a traditional hip-hop environment so I am looking forward to their future,” said Yang Hyun Suk.

For the established groups like BIGBANG, 2NE1, and Epik High, Yang Hyun Suk is known to leave the thorough preparations to his trusted team and just give his comments and advice on the important points. However, YG’s main man is hands on when it comes to the training process and album preparation of the rookie artists like Lee Hi, Akdong Musician, and WINNER. This time around, Yang Hyun Suk is focusing on his new babies: iKON.

Although iKON hasn’t made their official debut yet, the group has shown its great potential as it has drawn a lot of attention already through the shows “WIN: Who Is Next” and “MIX & MATCH.” iKON members Bobby and B.I also appeared on “Show Me the Money 3” and participated in Epik High’s song, “Born Hater.” The group has also held fan meetings and joined BIGBANG as their opening act in Japan.
