K-pop veteran and acting star Uhm Jung Hwa could be set to release a new album at some point in the future, according to a representative for the star.
Uhm Jung Hwa’s recent performance on “Saturday Saturday Is a Singer,” a special edition of long-running variety show “Infinity Challenge,” has proved to be a major talking point. The star took to the stage to perform some of the most popular hits of her back catalogue, including her steamy 1998 hit “Invitation.”
A spokesperson for the singer explained to media outlet Daily Sports, “Despite the fact that Uhm Jung Hwa has been focusing on her film and drama projects of late, she has long been considering making a return with a new album. Even before taking part in ‘Saturday Saturday Is a Singer,’ she had started planning a new album, even though we cannot be sure when that will be released. A lot of people have said that they want to see her back on stage again after the show aired. We want to thank everyone for their positive reaction to her performance.”
The star’s most recent musical release was the 2008 mini album “D.I.S.C.O,” which featured collaborations with BIGBANG member T.O.P and 2NE1’s CL.
