2NE1’s CL Nominated for TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in 2015

2NE1 leader CL is the only Korean person to be nominated for TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2015.

This year, a total of 158 figures have been nominated for a spot on the coveted list. While 99 individuals in the final list will be chosen by TIME editors, one star will make the list based on the results of an online poll, which runs until April 10. CL currently tops the poll with 8.7 percent of the votes, while pop icon Lady Gaga is second with 4.1 percent. Other big names nominated for this year’s list include Beyoncé, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Emma Watson, among many others.

On the TIME website, the 2NE1 leader is introduced as the latest addition to Scooter Braun‘s roster of top stars, along with a mention that she is currently preparing for her upcoming U.S. debut.

CL is the third Korean celebrity overall to be nominated for TIME 100, following Rain and PSY.

To find out if she made the list or not, stay tuned for the release of TIME’s list of 2015’s Most Influential People on April 16!
