Rising K-Pop sensation VIXX received a rousing welcome from Filipino Starlights and met the press ahead of its one-night only “Live Fantasia in Manila Utopia” stop. The open press conference served both to give N, Ravi, Leo, Hongbin, Hyuk, and Ken an opportunity to answer questions from the media and to fire up an already warm summer early evening for their fans who will see them perform live for the first time in the Philippines.
There was no shortage of excited screams and expressions of devotion from the fans who had trooped and queued at SM Fairview well before the event center opened. The Starlights made sure VIXX would not doubt their energy by cheering non-stop from the time the group entered until they left.
Dapper in their long-sleeved white shirts, the members held on to their cool despite the tropical weather, right smack in the middle of the Philippine summer season.
“Secret,” VIXX leader N said with a smile, pertaining to the plans and preparations and what fans can expect for the group’s concert on the following night. His teasing also led to an announcement from Ravi of a possible new album within the year.
VIXX’s releases and concepts are set apart with their use of fantasy elements, which is what the group credits as one of its strengths.
“We are a ‘storytelling group.’ Each release is built around a story,” the group said.
Relatively young in the industry as it is, VIXX has had the honor of being on stage and performing with senior singers in the music business.
It was also a high point for VIXX cover group Excelsis, winners of the dance contest held earlier to celebrate the Manila leg of the concert. VIXX personally presented a certificate to the winners and shook their hands.
Throughout the session, VIXX continuously expressed its sincere gratitude for the support of the Starlights. Each left a short message of thanks to the fans who came and made the most of their time together.
Soompi thanks Pulp Live World for the invitation to this open press conference.
