On the afternoon of June 14, SBSInkigayo” abruptly ended without the closing ceremony immediately following Lee Seung Gi‘s performance. This was much to the dismay of viewers, who had long awaited this particular broadcast, in which BIGBANG’s “BANG BANG BANG” and EXO’s “Love Me Right” would be vying for number one yet again. Fans were especially taken by surprise, given that there was no prior announcement stating that this would happen.

This week’s show was a bit different, being pre-recorded in secret due to the MERS outbreak, as opposed to the usual live broadcast, so the immediate announcement of the winner during the show with the artists on stage was not possible, says “Inkigayo.” An “Inkigayo” rep stated to Newsen following the broadcast that the winner of the show will be revealed via the show’s home page on June 15.
