“SMTOWN The Stage” Documentary to Hit Theaters in August

SM Entertainment will soon be releasing a film entitled “SMTOWN The Stage” that features footage from its recent worldwide concert tour. You’ll be able to see all the groups and artists that performed on the tour in the documentary, including Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, and Red Velvet.

According to SM Entertainment on July 9, “‘SMTOWN The Stage’ will include live concert footage from last August’s Seoul concert at the World Cup Stadium, as well as the October concerts in Tokyo and Shanghai.”

It appears that this film will be similar to the company’s previous 2012 documentary entitled “I AM,” as it will feature not only SM artists’ performances but also footage from backstage and rehearsals. It will also include interviews with staff, and show how the songs and performances are crafted.

The film will be released on August 13, and will be in theaters nationwide in Korea for only two weeks until August 26. It will hit theaters in Japan on August 29, and is expected to be released in other major cities in Asia.
