Singer Do Eun Young has recently passed away at age 33, just three days before the release her new album.
Do Eun Young first made herself known to the public through tvN‘s audition program “Super Diva 2012.” On the show, she confessed the hardships of becoming a singer, explaining, “I debuted as a singer and released my first album, but it was hard because I had no privacy and freedom.”
She continued, “I got married in 2006, which is the same year I sued my agency because it violated my contract. Thankfully, I won the lawsuit and I’m currently living with my husband. However, I suffered severe depression because of this issue, all the while doing small gigs in live cafes to make a living.”
Do Eun Young debuted in 2005 by singing the “I Will Pray” OST for MBC drama “Be Strong, Geum-Soon!” In 2007, she released her digital single “Carmen.” Afterwards, she halted her singing career due to personal reasons but appeared on “Super Diva” in 2012 to resume her activities.
Fellow friend and singer Yeon Kyu Sung addressed Do Eun Young’s passing by writing on his Facebook on August 4, “My loving, precious, talented singer Do Eun Young has gone to heaven.”
The cause of death has not been revealed.
