Singer Lee Seung Hwan is said to have received death threats after publicly voicing his opinions against government-issued history textbooks, and announcing that he will hold a concert on November 4 to support those who stand against such textbooks.

Lee Seung Hwan posted a screenshot of the death threat, received via Twitter, on his Facebook page, which said “Shin Hae Chul died pitifully because he was the loudest of those who oppose the government. Next is the commie Lee Seung Hwan.” This seems much more extreme than the maliciousness that celebrities are exposed to, and Lee Seung Hwan’s acquaintances are said to be extremely worried about him.

Lee Seung Hwan’s concert against government-issued textbooks will be held on November 4 at 7 p.m. KST in Hongdae, where the audience will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis.
