The premiere of the highly anticipated Song Joong KiSong Hye Kyo drama, “Descendants of the Sun,” is coming soon, and in addition to exciting trailers, we are also getting preview stills that give us a look into the characters that populate the story.

KBS released stills of actor Jin Goo and actress Kim Ji Won today, playing Suh Dae Young and Yoon Myung Joo, respectively. Suh Dae Young is described as a man who was born to be a soldier, taking great passion and pride in protecting his family and his country. Yoon Myung Joo is an army surgeon and the only child of a general. Suh Dae Young and Yoon Myung Joo are from very different backgrounds – the former only a high school graduate, while the latter has never want for anything in her life. The interaction between Suh Dae Young and Yoon Myung Joo will be different from the interaction between Shi Jin (Song Joong Ki) and Mo Yeon (Song Hye Kyo), with the first couple communicating through straightforward action while the second couple commutes with words and their eyes. The drama will follow how Suh Dae Young and Yoon Myung Joo’s relationship grows in the midst of the hierarchical structure of the military, as well as against the differences in their social backgrounds.
