Actor Lee Jin Wook of “Goodbye Mr. Black” talks about the difference between his character Cha Ji Won and Song Joong Ki’s character Yoo Si Jin in “Descendants of the Sun.”

On March 14, the new upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama “Goodbye Mr. Black” team held a press conference in MBC’s Sangamdong building.

During the press conference, Lee Jin Wook addressed his character being compared to Song Joong Ki’s character in “Descendants of the Sun.” He commented, “I’m a navy officer and Song Joong Ki’s character is in the army. Also, our drama storyline doesn’t evolve around the soldier’s life. It’s more about a character who used to be a soldier. I don’t appear as a soldier that much”

Lee Jin Wook emphasized that “Goodbye Mr. Black” will have a completely different charm of its own compared to “Descendants of the Sun.”

“Goodbye Mr. Black” is based on a manwha series which was explosively popular back in the 1980s written by Hwang Mi Na. It’s a melodrama with the story of revenge as its focal storyline. It is a highly anticipated drama with star studded lineup of Lee Jin Wook, Moon Chae Won, Kim Kang Woo, Song Jae Rim, and Yoo In Young among others. Some parts of the drama was recorded abroad in Thailand.

The first episode of “Goodbye Mr. Black” will air on March 16 as the follow up to “One More Happy Ending.”
