As Lee Hi prepares to drop her full-length album, “Seoulite,” on April 20, the singer recently shared how her agency CEO has been helping her along.
Yang Hyun Suk, the head of YG Entertainment, once showed off his dance skills as part of original idol group Seo Taiji and Boys. When BIGBANG and 2NE1 debuted, he personally helped make the choreography for those groups, but has taken a backseat in recent years.
However, Lee Hi revealed that Yang Hyun Suk personally showed up at the dance studio in order to supervise her new choreography. “He came about eight times and personally made some of my choreography,” she said. “He said that he doesn’t look at BIGBANG or iKON’s choreography, but he was worried about me. I felt bad about that.”
The title track for the upcoming full album is “My Star.” “The song is in a retro soul genre, which suits me best,” Lee Hi said. “Like my debut song, ‘1, 2, 3, 4,’ the choreography has a strong groove which fits the song. I think that’s why the CEO came out personally to help with the dance.”
