Uhm Jung Hwa To Make Music Comeback After 8-Year Hiatus (With Lee Hyori!)

Singer and actress Uhm Jung Hwa is preparing to make her comeback to the music industry after an eight-year hiatus. Her last release was the 2008 mini-album “D.I.S.C.O.”

The agency she will be working with for her comeback, Mystic Entertainment, announced on October 5, “Uhm Jung Hwa signed an album contract with Mystic and has been working on her music for the past year. The album is in the final stages of recording. Uhm Jung Hwa has been coming to the recording studio and the practice room regularly and putting all her passion into the new album.”

Mystic’s Jo Young Chul, who has previously worked with IU, Brown Eyed Girls, and Gain, will be in charge of producing.

On October 4, various sources reported that Lee Hyori would be featuring on the album. One source said, “Lee Hyori recently attended a recording. Both Lee Hyori and Uhm Jung Hwa are role models for many female stars and they both have a ‘sexy diva’ image. Lee Hyori doesn’t feature in other people’s tracks often and she has been on hiatus from entertainment activities for a long time, but the two of them have a good relationship.”

Uhm Jung Hwa debuted in the music industry in 1993 and with a series of hits became a popular female artist of the time. For the past few years she has been active as an actress.
