Korean Film “Sunny” To Get A Hollywood Remake

The movie “Sunny” is getting a Hollywood remake!

On October 26, the U.S. news website Mashable reported, “Brett Ratner’s company RatPac Entertainment and CJ Entertainment will be remaking the popular Korean film ‘Sunny.’ They have hired scenario writer Heather Hach to write the script.

Brett Ratner is an American director with a filmography that includes the “Rush Hour” film series, “Red Dragon,” and “X-Men: The Last Stand.” Heather Hach has previously worked on “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”

When “Sunny” opened in Korean theaters in 2011, it sold more than 7 million tickets. The movie is about a group of middle-aged women who were friends in high school, and the film goes back and forth between the present and past timelines.

“Sunny” stars Shim Eun Kyung, Kang Sora, Min Hyo Rin, Nam Bo Ra, and Chun Woo Hee and was directed by Kang Hyung Cheol.
