Nam Gyuri's Four Jewel Eye Make-Up Ideas for Fall

Gold, blue, green, silver… This fall, InStyle magazine focuses on subdued metallic texture and colors of an antique jewel. “Haeundae Lovers” actress Nam Gyuri shows us how to interpret four different colors into four dazzling images.

First up is titled “Golden Eyes,” here matched with Roberto Cavalli dress and Persona earrings. To get this look, the make-up artist suggests, “Bring out your clear skin tone by using a base color that best matches with your skin.” She spreads beige eye shadow over the entire lid, then she mixed the antique gold brown with bright yellow eye shadow. Next step is to apply dark brown shadow right on the eye lid folds to bring out the eyes. Dabbing white gold shadow near the inner corner of your eyes will cleanly define them. Finally for the lips, mix brick-colored brown and orange to give a luxurious feel.

Nam Gyuri said, “I think this fall’s trending gold shadow is more captivating because it’s a little faded and antique-looking.”

Second look is “Fresh Green,” matched with a toned down beige dress. First, spread the pearl-like green eye shadow and fill the eyelid fold line with black eyeliner. Then mix the brown liner and eye shadow to thinly draw on the bottom eye line. This will bring out the entire eye and the fresh green hues. Next, lightly add a touch of peach colored blush. Complete your make-up with a glossy, nude-toned lip gloss to bring glamor.

Make-up artist, Lee Hee Kyung commented, “If you feel overwhelmed by a colorful shadow, match eye shadow with metallic texture with glossy lips. It can give a translucent feel and make you look more innocent.”

Third featured look is “Deep Blue,” starting off with a beige gold base on your eyelids. Add a layer of dark blue on your eyelid fold line for emphasis. “Use gradation on the upper part of your eyelids, and add a highlighting color at the inner corner of your eyes. If you slightly touch the corners with an pencil eyeliner, your eyes will open up to a bigger shape.” Connect that with a blue color in the bottom eye line. Touch your water lines with a white pencil for your eyes to look mellow and moist. Finish your make-up by toning down your lips by pressing them with foundation and a nude beige lip gloss for volume.

“Extending the blue colors thinly to the inner corners will open up you eyes,” commented Lee Hee Kyung.

The final look is “Sliver Grey,” a classy but seductive color palette. Begin with light grey eye shadow spread on the entire eye lid. Extend the dark metallic grey from the eye lid folds outward, in a gradation for an enlarging effect. “Fill the line completely with a black pencil. Apply mascara several times to add density and volume to your lashes.” Apply deep grey eye shadow on the eye lid folds to add depth. Embrace your cheekbones with a light sweep of the bronzer. Finally, complete the glamorous look with a lipstick of peach brown color.
