"1N2D" Format Exported to China

The continuing popularity of Korean entertainment finds another confirmation. According to reports in local news agencies, the format of KBS Sunday variety show “1 Night 2 Days” (or “1N2D”) is exported to China. 

Further reports quoted a statement from KBS saying, “We have signed an agreement with a broadcast company in China for the local adaptation and airing of the  format of the ‘1N2D.’ With this agreement, it seems that ‘1N2D’ is an emerging frontrunner of Korean entertainment.”

It is also reported that the discussions and the rights agreement are going smoothly. A team from China came to personally observe the filming of ‘1N2D’ in one of its featured locations and upon seeing how the program comes together with the cast members, the company confirmed the contract rights.

China’s “1N2D” is expected to broadcast in the second half of the year. As with the original, there will be popular guests to join permanent cast members who will embark on both local tourist attractions and unknown locations.
