Big Bang Seungri's Japanese Solo Debut Album Hits No. 1 on Oricon Charts

Big Bang’s Seungri has achieved number one on Oricon’s daily chart rankings with his Japanese solo debut album.

According to the rankings released on October 9, Seungri’s Japanese debut album “Let’s Talk About Love” hit number one the same day it was released.

Seungri’s newly released Japanese album contains songs from his first and second mini-albums, released in Korea in 2011 and 2013, respectively, including title songs from his previous releases “I Have Something To Say,” “VVIP,” and “Strong Baby.” Seungri was directly responsible for producing this album, making hitting number one on the Oricon charts of greater significance.

This Japanese album contains Seungri’s first original Japanese track, “Thoughts I Draw In The Sky,” composed by Seungri himself. “Thoughts I Draw In The Sky” has also been chosen as the theme song for UULA’s original drama “Yubi Koi,” which will begin airing this winter.

Seungri started full-fledged solo activities in Japan last summer, receiving a lot of love from fans with his regular appearances on Japanese TV programs. Recently, he became a hot topic after it was announced that Seungri became the first foreign celebrity to land a main emcee position for terrestrial broadcasting company Fuji TV.

With his excellent Japanese skills, Seungri has been active in many Japanese variety programs including TBS’ “Sanma no Karakuri” and Fuji TV’s “Sakigake! Ongaku Banzuke Eight,” receiving a lot of love from the locals. Beginning with his successful solo activities in Korea to his activities in Japan, Seungri will continue on with Big Bang’s Japanese Six-Dome Tour starting in November.
